What is the best CDR for backing up games/audio CDs?

I was wondering what CD-RW (or even CD-rom) Is the best for backing up game CDs (copy protected or otherwise), audio CDs with minimal errors, and damaged game/audio CDs (ie old game CDs like warcraft2 that have seen better days).

I ask this because it has come to my attention that quite a few of my older CDs no longer work all that well. (i try to take good care of CDs but stuff happens) So I’m going to backup many of my newer game CDs and audio CDs to my harddrive, and then onto tapes, to prevent having this happening again later on. Unfortunately for me copy protection prevents me from doing so with allot of the newer games (i wish software companies would just give up their futile attempts to stop pirating, it doesn't work and frustrates customers like me), and I want the best possible quality for the audio. But have no clue what CD-RW/ROM would be best for this, only that there are large differences between models/brands.

I'd say most CD-RW drives can handle even the latest game/audio protections. From my experience, LG and Lite-On drives can handle just about any protection.

The only drive that can properly handel Cactus Data Shield 12b or later AND also get two sheep in the CloneCD EFM encoding test, is Plextor Premium.

No LG or LiteOn that I've tried has been able to bypass the 9 second gap problem in later versions of Cactus Data Shield Audio cd protection.

Only Plextor drives using PlexTools are able to do this.

I'd be glad to be proven wrong on this, but this is to the best of my knowledge the situation at the time of writing this.

I have Yamaha CRW3200 and it also produces a gap at 9 second mark for each track. Haven't had the possibility to try F1, because they were all snatched from under my nose :(
