Upgrading Hard Drive

I'm currently using 10.2 GB 5400 rpm hard drive
and going to upgrade to 80 GB 7200 rpm 8 MB cache Hard Drive .

How am I going to make the exect same copy of my current Hard Drive to my new hard drive ?

Just clone your old partition on the new hard drive . Software like Ghost can perform this task but are not free . You can download for free Disk utilities on hard drives manufacturers websites ( Seagate , Maxtor , Western-Digital , IBM-HITACHI ; i don't know for others manufacturers ) and sometimes they are already contained in a floppy disk bundled with your hard drive .
I have already proceded like this with my new Seagate drive .

These disk utilities fit on a floppy disk and are bootable . After booting your system they give you choices/abilities to perform tasks on your hard drives .

on a side note if this was your system drive that you are upgrading, you might want to make sure that your motherboard has updates to support such a large drive.

Yes , my motherboard supported the hard drive because I just upgraded my CPU from Pentium 3 866 Mhz to Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz .

i'd recomend you use ghost instead.. you can get a free trial off the website(you have to give them your email and they'll send you a temporary link).

so in short you got a new mother board too right

sounds like pretty much a new machine.

Anyways their is no limitation on the trial that would effect you. I just think it limits how many ghost u can do

Tidus, you probably have Norton Ghost bundled with your new mobo, so might want to check
