nero 5.5.10.28 doen't recognize hp8200 external

I have this old hp8200 external cd writer. It works on labtop with any nero sw but on desktop nero could not detect it. Please help...

What interface is the drive (i.e. USB, Parallel, etc.)? Does Windows "see" the drive? What version of Windows do you have on the laptop and desktop?

Edit: did the version of Nero on the desktop computer come with a burner other than your HP? If so, what burner did it come with? The reason I ask this is that "bundled" versions of Nero frequently work only with the brand of burner with which they were included.

ngonqua I have the same cd-wr HP and it works fine with the same Nero version.

Send me an Email at techsupport4@nero.com, I would like you to test with an older WNASPI32.DLL file of ours to see if this resolves your issue on the laptop.
