DVR-105 + Nero 5.5.10= "invalid field in parameter

Postby megalomando on Tue Apr 22, 2003 3:12 pm

Hi,

I've been looking everywhere for the answer.

Drive is a Pioneer DVR-105

I am using Nero 5.5.10.20 In a AMD XP2600 system. I am trying to burn SVCDs some from the net & some from DVD2SVCD. I can't burn a bin cue. If I try DAO I get the error error "invalid field in parameter". If I burn with DAO/96 the CD is made but it becomes a coaster unread by the drive or stand alone player.

The only way I can burn from a bin-cue is to use daemon tools and burn the CD from the mpg or to use isobuster and rip the MPG to a separate file and then burn it.

No matter what I do, the only option for me to burn is under DAO/96.

Here's a link to much more detail I've already entered elsewhere:

Anyone seen or heard about this blighter & better yet how to deal with it?

Cheers

Give burnatonce (free at www.burnatonce.com) a try. It burns .cue/.bin files.

Thanks for the pointer. Burnatonce doesn't work either. I left the error message at the burnatonce forum & perhaps someone there will understand what the problem is. Looks like a pretty nice program and the error log was quite well done.

Then it may well be that either your bin or cue file is bad. Or perhaps it is an issue with these programs properly supporting your drive. Have you tried to burn these images on another burner, perhaps a straight CD-RW?

Okay, I looked it up, and the Pioneer DVR-105 is supported by Nero in versions 5.5.8.9 and up (Nero only, not Nero Max or InCD).:

Therefore recorder support under Nero shouldn't be the problem. Still, you might want to update to the latest version of Nero (5.5.10.20) if you don't already have it:

http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#download

It is still possible that have a bad bin/cue file. Therefore, you might want to download a trial copy of GoldenHawk's CDRWin and see if it can handle your bin/cue files:

http://www.goldenhawk.com/download_body.htm

GoldenHawk developed the bin/cue format, so if anything can properly interpret and burn correct bin/cue files, it ought to be CDRWin. According to their supported drives chart, your DVR-105 is supported in at least version 3.9C (maybe even earlier):

Hey! Thanks for trying so much to help me out here.

Yes, I'm using the latest Nero 5.5.10.20 and I haven't been able to burn any bin-cue I've seen 6 different ones from the net & 4 I generated from DVD2SVCD.

I did try CdrWin 3.9C and it didn't read the one bin-cue I gave to it.

Only if I convert to a MPG can I burn SVCD under DAO96 & any data to burn to disk has to be done under DAO96.

This surely isn't right but I'm stuck at the moment.

It must be the drive as the old plexwriter worked fine. It's got to be something in the setup for the DVR-105 but I can't find anything to change.

Thanks,

MM

I second the software update. 5.5.10.15 broke some things for DVD, then 5.5.10.15a came out a couple of days later with fixes for some of the newer drives.
