Anyone know much about Pacific digital CD-RW?

I just saw an add in the Office Max flier for a Pacific Digital CD-RW 52-24-52 and couldn't find any reviews on the site. Just wondering if it is a crappy brand or a good deal ($30.00 after rebates)

Most likely a crappy brand. I don't think Pacific Digital has ever used Lite-On drives in their products. Your probably going to get a drive from Benq, BTC, CyberDrive, Optorite, AOpen, or another brand. $30 isn't that good of a deal for a crappy drive either, so I would personally stay away.

Some CenDyne drives are (or were) made by Lite-On. Look for a model number on the stick-on label on the back of the box that starts with "LTR".

On the BUSlink drive boxes, look for SmartBurn written on the front for a Lite-On drive instead. If the BUSlink box says Justlink or Buffer Underrun Protection on it instead, there will be an AOpen drive inside.

Thanks for the update. Too far back for me to remember, but since its your drive, you would.
As far as the current 52x PD drives go, I haven't seen any of them being Lite-On drives.

I went to Office Max for the hell of it and bought the PD writer. It turned out to be a BTC(pretty crappy I've heard), so I returned it. Thanks for all the help.
