Need HELP with firmware 2.0e for DRU500ax - computer reboots

Hi,

I installed my DRU500AX today.
Strange thing: it shows up in Device Manager (and all my writer softwares) as a DRU500A.
Anyways...
I downloaded the new firmware 2.0e at http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru500axdwn.htm .
I followed the instructions (disabled DMA, made sure no direct CD or such was installed).
I executed the file... and it REBOOTS my system as soon as I double lcick on the file!

I tried three times, and each time it's the same. The computer reboots instantly.

I have Windows XP, all updates and SP.
AMD 2000+, 1GB Ram, etc.

Any ideas why I can't update my firmware???

Recently installed the USB 2.0 model DRX500ULX. It's typical for the Device Manager to identify your model and mine as DRU500A. Not a problem. When installing the firmware, which I also downloaded, I imagine you extracted the files to a folder; and closed all open applications especially virus scanware. If you have software that reads the firmware version what does it identify as the installed firmware? BTW: I use Nero Burning and I have Direct CD installed. The flashing of the firmware went without a hitch. I am using Win2000Pro with all updates. Is any of this helpful? Good luck
