Question about Cendyne 48x12x48

Postby chihpih on Sat Apr 05, 2003 5:57 pm

I just got this drive (model 4824p) and it didnt come with any drivers, Win2000 installs its own drivers and it is seen as ATAPI 48x12 drive. Cendyne website doesnt have any drivers for it either ;(. Question that I have is does anyone know how to get drivers for this drivers so that I can get it to work in other programs (CDRWIN, etc). I can only use cheesy Nero Express that came bundled with the drive. Thanks in advance.

Come on, Nero Express isn't that bad. It does a pretty good job at what it does.

As for other burning programs, they usually come with the necessary drivers or instructions on how to get them. If not, they may be expecting that you have already installed a system-level ASPI layer. You can get Adaptec's latest ASPI layer at their web site, but I recommend googling for ForceASPI and using it to install version 4.60 of Adaptec's ASPI. Many believe 4.60 is the most stable version Adaptec has released. Maybe, maybe not. But ForceASPI certainly is better for installing just what you need and allowing you to easily remove it if something goes wrong.
