Which IC is implemented in LG GCE-8240B?

Dear all,
Hi.I want to know which IC is implemented in the LG GCE-8240B?
Also I have the above writer with firmware 1.07 and LG has released new firmware 1.08 for the same.So far I am satisfied with the performance of the writer.So shall I update the firmware of the writer?Also what are the enhancements in the new firmware?

I don´t know what IC is in 8240, but i updated mine to 1.08 and it does what is says... improve compatibility with VCD players using CD-RW, and it also solved a problem i was having with audio cds (the first track only played for 5sec then it stopped... it happened with 1 in each 5 cds)
