AMD XP Motherboard

I am looking to get a Amd Xp motherboard and have narrowed it down to the Abit or the Iwill motherboard. does anyone have any ideas on whats the best one for upgrading future. I was looking to start out with a 2..0 ghz cpu for now

Asus A7N8X is your best bet for an AMD XP motherboard.

yes, there are a dozen athlonXP capable motherboards made by Asus alone...

The a7n8x Deluxe is the newest/best incarnation from Asus. While this motherboard may be more expensive than most (~$145 from newegg.com) it is probably the best.

also, I would get an AthlonXP 2200+, the price difference between the chips from 2000-2200 is so small it doesn't make sense not to get the 2200+ unless you're just on the strictess of budgets.

Just make sure the board is based on nForce2 chipset and your Athlon has Thoroughbred-B core.

BTW, if you're looking for a good bargain board (something that will support upto a athlonXP 2600+ CPU and cost under $80), then I'd check out this thread at SF:

Most of these boards are kt266a or Nforce 1 based, they dont have USB2 (but do have USB 1.1), and don't have onboard RAID, however they typically have onboard LAN and sound.. some have video as well.
