The great news is that they worked hard to come up with the 2X hacked firmware for the A05 and Ritek G03 media, and finally produced a solution.
The sad thing is that because of the shortage (and what I think is price
gouging by many online retailers to take advantage of the shortage), I have been able to get Verbatim 2X DVD-R and Verbatim 2.4X DVD+R media (after rebate) for about the same as (actually 'less than', in the case of the +R) Ritek G03 1X DVD-Rs!!
