How do I monitor this fan I just bought?

I just purchased this.

It supports rpm monitoring and I have it plugged into the motherboard but I know of no program for doing this.

If you use an asus mobo, try the pc probe software...

Not an Asus board. It's a Intel (Monterrey) motherboard - 1.3-GHz

Some Motherboard Monitor 5 adds ons are dedicated to control fan RPM . I have not tested them ( my fans doesn't support speed control ) , they have NOT been made by Motherboard Monitor author .
Of course Motherboard Monitor can report fan speed ( and report many things , for example it can detect and report all temperature sensors in your computer like CPU and Motherboard sensors but also hard drives sensors ) .

It seems that only one add on is available ( it is a Software ). Others seems to be hardware projects .

In all cases fan speed is reported in the Bios .

Finally the two others add ons seems to be software too ( i am a little confused ) .
Use the Motherboard Monitor website link i gave you and download them if you want ( they are links to the three programs in " extensions " list )

My Digidoc5 can monitor fan speeds with the 3 pin connector.

I'm not sure about the Intel Monterrey motherboard but I have an Intel D815EEA2L and an Intel D845GBEV2. They both support motherboard and CPU temp and fan RPM monitoring and display via the Intel Active Monitor (IAM). The IAM S/W was on the CD bundled with the mobo.

They even run well at 5v or with seperate PWM rpm controller with the built in speed adjuster working perfectly....

Certain Intel motherboards comes with Active Monitor for the purpose you inquired about, not sure if you motherboad is on the list.

Cool! Good to know. Btw, I bought 2 of them also....working great so far, but since I'm after a "silent" computer I might rig them to a 5v since you already giunea-pigged it for me

when running at 5v the variable resistor will actually go low enough to turn the fans off... so be careful not to do that... I keep switching the fan in my main rig between the 12v lower settings and the higher 5v settings... I think with summer coming I'm gonna just keep it at 12v because my room gets pretty toasty.
