CompUSA coupon deals - 3/16 through 3/20 (ends Thursday)

Postby cfitz on Sat Mar 15, 2003 12:46 am

These deals are good in-store only and appear to require coupons clipped from the CompUSA flyer - see your local newspaper.

Also see CompUSA's regular deals and free items.

10-pack DVD-R: $9.99 after instant rebate
(made by FMI - who?)

Universal BUSlink 52x24x52 internal IDE CD-RW drive: $29.99 after MIR
(might be a LiteOn, might be a Benq, might even be an AOpen??)
Image

Mad Dog Multimedia 56x internal IDE CD-ROM drive:$9.99 after MIR
(I hesitated including this, because Mad Dog makes a habit of refusing to honor valid rebate submissions, meaning this will probably end up being a $40 CD-ROM if you buy it - not so hot :( )

Aw geez eliminator, all the work I did to put the small images in with links to larger ones so people with dial-up links don't have to deal with unwanted bandwidth usage, and you go and post the big picture anyway. :x

Any chance I could get you to edit your post? Or maybe I will just skip the effort to make bandwidth-friendly threads. :(

Thanks eliminator. 8) Check the "regular" CompUSA deals. I'm still working on it, but I'll be putting something in there for you.

BusLink 52x24x52 also $29.99 at CircuitCity > MIR -last d

Postby dforion on Sat Mar 15, 2003 3:18 pm

Last day today Sat 3/15 for this deal! Check the Circuit City Website for rebate details, one rebate is from CC the other directly from Buslink.

Get a box that says "SmartBurn" then open it to verify its a LiteOn 52246S!

Like the MAN said, it could be a re-badged from any of several manufacturers.

Enjoy!

buslink rebate

Postby rmdir on Sun Mar 16, 2003 1:32 am

Is that a mfr rebate or comp-usa? I picked one up from CC Friday, which I promptly stuck in my Mac, but I'd like to get a second one for my PC. I can't mail in a second one to the mfr unfortunately.

It doesn't say in my flyer. You will have to check at the store or see if they post details online.

The BUSlink deal at CompUSA features a $30 Mfr. Mail-in Rebate.

Anybody think about buying the 10 pack of DVD-R's ? Was thinking I'd pick some up but worried about the quality... Never bought FMI blank DVD-R's before so any thoughts would be helpful... Think it'll burn at 2x speed?

I just picked up 3 packs of the dvd blanks. Haven't burned one yet, but put a blank in my DRU500A and it shows 2x for burn speed. I don't know what information you guys use out of advdinfo but if anyone wants to know, tell me what to select and I'll post the results.

Has anyone tried claiming the Fuji 30-pack rebate on-line?

I just tried and the website is claiming there is no $6 rebate for the 30-pack purchased on 3/16/2003. I'll have to call them. Hmmm.

The dvd-r blanks are a good deal, especialy now that you have confirmed they do 2x, I hate waiting :)
I have a 500 also so that's good news, now if they ever start putting it on sale so others can have a nice toy.....

These are Accu DVD-Rs.
If you are buying 100 or so, then you can get them (without jewel cases)for $78 after coupon and pay $8 or so in shipping.

I bought 5 ten packs of FMI DVD-R media on Sunday. I might just return them, now that I know they are Accu and are officially only 1X.

I recently got some good, and some amazing, specials on a bunch of 2X and 2.4X name brand discs from different stores (and in one case from my brother's friend).
I have quite a few left, and might just return (most of) the Accus since they aren't 2X and can be had cheaper online in quantity.

They apparently have mixed results if burned at 2X, so even though it might let you burn them at 2X (DRU-500A or A04), the results might not be what you expect.
My A05 can't burn them at 2X regardless, only my DRU-500A should be able to (haven't opened them yet).
Burners only:
Pioneer DVR-115D
Pioneer DVR-111D
Plextor PX-716A TLA0304
Plextor PX-716A same TLA

LiteOn 52246S 52X CD-RW
LiteOn 52246S (another)
LiteOn 52327S 52X CD-RW
TDK 40X USB 2.0 CD-RW
TEAC CD-W540E 40X CD-RW
