Nero CD Speed Test Disk

Postby jimbo on Mon Mar 10, 2003 1:50 pm

May be missing something very basic, but when I try to create a Test CD in Nero Advanced DAE Quality Test, the Start button is greyed out and the Disk Type says no CD-R(W). I have tried several brands of CDR with no luck. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

JIM

When you select "Extra"->"Disc Info", does CD Speed see the disc?

Yes, now it does. I had to change my settings in Alcohol 120 to uncheck the "Ignore media Type" box. Now it will create a Test CD, but when I try to "Run Test" under "Advanced DAE Quality Test", I get the "Read Error (Code 052000)" and the test ends with no results.
Thanks for your help, cfitz.

Did the test fail right at the start, or further into the testing procedure at a particular sub-test? If the former, you might want to try different media.

When you look at the disc in explorer, do you see 37 tracks, each two minutes long? Will they play in media player or your favorite player (you won't hear anything but buzzing noise - turn down your volume first).

Alcohol 120% and other disc imaging programs can cause conflicts with CD Speed and ATIP reading. This can commonly cause the overburn test and other features in CD Speed to fail to operate.

If you uninstall Alcohol, CD Speed will probably work properly. After running the test(s), reinstall Alcohol.
