Generally pretty good. With the right media, it's stellar. With some more obscure makes it can be horrible. But as long as you stick to the fairly well-known ones (Ritek/TY/Prodisc/Mitsui/Kodak/MBI and so on) and avoid CMC and Mitsubishi you can't go far wrong.

I disagree about Mitsubishi...somewhat. I'm using the Verbatim DataLifePlus 48X on my TDK VeloCD 4800B and my BUSLink RW5252 (OEM Lite-On LTR-52246S), and I haven't had any problems with this media on either burner.

As I understand it, Lite-On was one of the manufacturers Verbatim/Mitsubishi Chemicals sought out for testing the 48X-rated media.

Even though I don't have any at the moment, I suspect that the Verbatim DataLifePlus 52X CD-R would perform in a similar fashion (which is, very well). :)

I'd modify Jase's statement like this: "Avoid Mitsubishi (or Verbatim) if it is less than 48X." :)
My solution to the Plextor vs. Lite-On debate: Buy 'em both! :)
