Future CD-RW Tehnology

Will we really see 72x CD-RW (or more ) in the near future ?
Is that sow important ? Does the time matters sow much, not the quality ?

I'm waiting for your ideas.

No we won't. Future advances in rewritable optical drive technology will occur in newer formats like DVD and Blu Ray (please, no arguments about whether Blu Ray is DVD or not - that's not germane to this point). Anyway, that is my informed opinion.

At 72x I'd say, hang a lead blanket over the tray door to catch the shrapnel.

52x seems to be the max for cd-r writing. CD-RW's are set to go to 32x shortly. Lite On has their 52x32x52x listed at their site (under products) as coming soon.

Does anyone think that the Yamaha CRW-F1, currently re-writing at 24x, could be flashed to run at 32x, considering Yamaha will write the code?

It's not possible to burn CD-RW media at 52x because the recording layer can't be burned at high speeds like CD-R media. Even CD-R media, it's not easy to find media to burn at 52x without errors.

seeing as Yamaha has dropped out of the CD-R/W drive business, it's unlikely that they will write such a firmware. even if it is at all possible at the hardware level, which i highly doubt.
