You think Wses could run with LG's Dvd-rom?
Or would it fry my drive?

It wouldn't fry it, but it wouldn't work either.

CD Doctor does everything WSES can (except fry you drive) and it does it in Windows!

I have both, and now use CD Doctor for my scans.

Thanks cfitz!

Well, actually it doesn't do everything WSES can do, because WSES has some other tests in addition to the C1/C2 error test. But I do agree that CD Doctor is more convenient for C1/C2 error testing which is mostly what people use WSES for anyway. And the real thanks go to Miyuri, the author of CD Doctor.

We have been told that Liteon has developed
a new tool for scanning c1c2.
I heard that it will be powerful than CD Doctor
and it is also windows-based.
If someone has this tool , please share us ,
thanks in advance.

The picture does not work and I am very interested in this. Please link to where the picture is posted.

*edit*
Copying and pasting into the address bar eventually worked. I have uploaded it to my space for you CDrlabs readers. This looks very exciting and I hope that Lite-ON will release it soon!

Great, another alternative reportedly coming down the line! There seems to be a lot of interest in C1/C2 level error reporting, and a number of people and organizations are stepping up to the plate. Hopefully we will have several alternatives to WSES in the near future. Unfortunately for non-LiteOn users, these tools seem to be compatible primarily with LiteOn drives. I'm glad I have a LiteOn. :)

Dave: thanks for the picture link.

It looks interesting.

BTW: that's a sh*tty looking disc they tested.

I wonder if this is one of those OEM member tools that you have to sign in for @ Lite On's site.
