can't enable DMA in WinXP with LG 8481B

Burn baby burn!

oops...

Postby Anne-Cécile Wolf on Tue Feb 25, 2003 2:01 pm

Hello,
I found this forum while browsing on the internet to find out how to activate DMA... however, I've already done all you said and it still doesn't work, even though my combo supports DMA (I checked this !).
Does anybody know what else could I do, exept reinstall Windows XP (which is what I'm going to do soon if nothing else works so help me please !)
Thank you very much.

Are you running IAA? What are your BIOS settings?

moderators: should debugging of this problem be done outside of the FAQ thread?

Sorry, but I'm not very good... can you explain what is IAA ?
And as for the BIOS, I can't do anything in it about this problem, or so I think... I guess you could say there's almost nothing in the BIOS I can change, it's very bad :( I've seen better BIOS than that.
Thank you.

Intel Application Accelerator.

I'm sorry but you really haven't given enough information to really suggest any possible solutions.
