Lite-on LTD-165H, LTD-166s, XJ-HD165H and XJ-HD166S

Does anyone know if LTD-165H=XJ-HD165H and LTD-166s=XJ-HD166S?

As far as I know they are the same thing. I believe that the XJ-HD designations simply reflect the reorganization that resulted in DVD-ROM drives being marketed by JLMS, the JVC-LiteOn joint venture.

It's the same thing . My DVD-ROM drive is recognised as JLMS XJ-HD 166S ( i use latest Firmware : DS14 ) . But on the top of the drive there is written LTD-166S .

You motivated me to check mine, vbl117. I knew the firmware identified my drive with the new model number, but didn't think to check the drive label itself. When I did check I found the same thing that you did: the label on the top says "LTD-166S", while the ID string states "XJ-HD 166S". And for what it is worth, I also have the DS14 firmware.
