I've got a USB 2.0 case for 5.25-inch and 3.5-inch drives. USB 2.0 for DVD-ROM drives, CD writers, CD-R/DVD-ROM combo drives, DVD writers, and hard drives all worked fine. I've got only two motherboards with native USB 2.0 ports though.

That drive is nothing more than a Pioneer A04 in this case:
