Liteon 166s in the UK?

hi guys

im after a new dvdrom and have narrowed it down to the liteon 166s but the thing is, i cant find it anywhere here in the UK?

how come? is it a USA only product?

we got the liteon 165 here, is that the equivalent to the 166?

any help much appreciated

mainly gona use it for ripping, do the liteon 165/166 have the 2x rip limit on them?

If you can't get the 166, just get the 165. The models can't be that much different otherwise Lite-On would have named it something completely different like the 266S. And as far as I know, there is no ripping limit on these drives. In fact, they rip audio very quickly.

The 165 and 166 models are quite similar... If you cannot buy a Lite-ON, try to find a Lite-ON OEM like 4KUS or SOME Sony's
