What is the Maximum "real world" DVD-+R Capcity

You have all been burning up those DVDr's. So what is the most GB worth of data / video you've been able to shove on one without outer edge errors or video screw ups?

I know the DVDr's state 4.7GB, but I keep reading it's more like around 4.3GB. I'm going to be trying my luck with a 4.40GB DVD rip, hopefully I compressed it enough.

It IS 4.3GB. 4.7GB is because people keep using the 1MB = 1000B notation instead of the right 1024B.

Your 4.4GB is not going to make it (assume you're already using the 1024B notation). And no you can not overburn DVDs.
