LTD-166s and CDRWin 3.9c?

Postby Lore on Mon Feb 17, 2003 3:51 pm

Has anyone ever tried using the Liteon LTD-166s DVD-rom drive to create a bin/cue file in CDRWin 3.9c?

I keep trying and I keep getting a Set Read Parameter error, which does not occur with my LiteOn 52x burner.

Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences? If you own a LTD-166s, could you test this for me?

You can use Alcohol 120% and create your BIN image :D

Granted, but I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else so I can find out whether it's a DVD-Rom problem, a CDRWin problem, or other.

Would you be willing to download the trial of CDRWin 3.9c and try to create a bin/cue? It doesn't take very long, all you have to do is click a button and see if it'll let you. Mine doesn't even let me -- as soon as I select the LTD-166s as the reader it gives me the error.

Put in any CD. Any at all, audio, data, game, etc.

www.goldenhawk.com - go to downloads and select CDRWin 3.9c.

When it's installed, click on the third icon from the left on the top row: Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors to Image file.

Select your LTD-166s from the drop down list (make sure there is a CD in it) and see if it pops up with an error.

Thank you.

I noticed that your device string is different than mine. Mine says JLMS XJ-HD166s -- did you change your string to say what it does?

i made it region free, but i dont know if that changed the string, i got the drive from nexthardwareshop.com they said it was a liteon16x, but in device settings it says 166s, i made it region free by using the tools on this page

hrm, I wonder if it's because my firmware revision is that much newer than yours...

I also made mine region free but that doesn't change the firmware string as far as I know.

Thanks anyway -- if anyone has the same string as mine, please let me know if the cdrwin thing works for you!

THANK YOU!

I'm using DS14 as well.

However, this problem happened before DS14, which is why I tried updating the firmware...agh.
