I can't comment on what the upgrade policy for Nero 5.5 to Nero 6.0 will be, or if there will be an upgrade policy. As I do not make this decision, and I honestly do not know what the policy may be till just before Nero 6.0x is released.
We have been working on Nero 6 for some time, and expect to release it in the Summer. The information that was recently posted concerning Nero 6, was not supposed to be published. It was mistakenly posted by our Publishers, who jumped the gun a little. Which is why we requested it to be removed.
As for taking a shot at Roxio. They are not the only software developers in the game, so we are really taking a shot at them all when this comes out.
We have to compete with Roxio, and other developers, but we do not wish to follow. We prefer to lead the way. And being the first out with a new release is not necessarily leading, especially if there are any bugs.

So we take the time needed to make sure it's as solid as we can make it before we release it.
