Stupid (computer) practical jokes...

Postby glock20rocks on Thu Dec 19, 2002 4:24 pm

I really pissed my roommate off today...his computer has an nVidia graphics board in it, so when he was at work I went into his display settings and used the NVRotate feature to flip his screen upside down! I came home from work and he had his monitor upside down...of course he started yelling at me as soon as I walked in :)

*I* thought it was funny anyway...

Anyone else like to stuff like that to other peoples computers?
Some ideas:

Replace their wallpaper with a screenshot of their desktop, and move all the icons...

Plug a cordless mouse/trackball into their system and move their curser around whenever they try to click on something...

LOL!

Your roommate doesn't sound too bright!

MaximumPC magazine did an article on that.

I remember how someone would change the orientation of the mouse movement to the opposite directions.

Or pull out the keys on the keyboard and mix them all up!

If I can find the issue, I'll post some more things.

Once i used the accessability options (handicap icon) to enlarge all icons.. well , only ONE icon actually .. to fit the entire screen :)
Information is neutral. It is only evil or disgusting to clueless twists that don't know how to use it to their advantage.

Opinion used as evidence is not enough to refute fact. Sometimes it's just FUD.

Lol, you can do the rotate thing on ATI cards as well, but you have to enable the tab in registry. Rage3D Tweak does it too...

I've got the Remote Wonder by ATI and I often use it for evil , It's got a power button that closes programs :D

Anyone seen the screensaver that looks like roaches are crawling on the monitors screen? I used it on the bosses computer at an old workplace a long time ago. She saw it from the door of her office, and wouldn't go inside. She didn't appreciate it. I need to find that one again. :P

I took the ball out of my brothers mouse, he kept trying to use it and then started looking at the back of the computer thinking it got unplugged.

That'd be sweet if you could get that to bootup. I'm sure the computer user would freak seeing something like that.

Here's a real mean one that will take some time.

Change all the icons to the same thing!
