From bad to good "unexpected" behaviour by NEC 110

Postby Emmanouil on Wed Feb 12, 2003 7:32 pm

I recently bought the NEC 1100A DVD+RW (4x 2.4x 16x 10x 12x)
After i installed the drive, and after the OS recognised the DVD+RW I used my CD Writer program ( Padus discJuggler) to see if the DVD was recognised normally by the O/S (WinXP). What i found was that the CD reading speed was 32x instead of 40x .The next thing i did was to reboot, and set the UDMA mode higher (from 2 to 3) from the bios. This fixed the CD reading speed , and also increased the reading speed of the DVD from 12x to 16x (12x was the normal specification) which was unexpected.
I am using ASUS A7VX8 (bios 1012.001)
