Need help LG GCC-4320B Problem with DVD

Postby mugala on Wed Feb 05, 2003 6:50 pm

Hi All,

I recently got an LG GCC-4320B Combo Drive based on the positive comments and reviews here. The problem is that the DVD won't playback correctly. It skips and the video is broken into square blocks of different coloured snow. The audio skips as well.

I have the SONY DDU-1621 which worked and still works flawlessly.

Things I have tried:

Different flavours of DVD software:
-Power DVD
- Easy DVD
- ATI DVD

Enabling/Disabling Hardware Accelleration
Many different DVDs to rule out scratching etc.
Removing the SONY DVD-ROM

System

P4 2.4 ghz
ASUS P4PE with onboard lan and sound
SoundBlaster Audigy

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

make sure DMA is enabled for the drive.

No luck, but LG after sales support Awesome

Running Win2k and tried that but no dice. Still same problem. I even installed and de-installed both drives again. No luck. Anyway, I think the drive is defective. LG is sending me a new one within the next week. Awesome service...no hassle at all. I told them I was having issues and they asked me for my e-mail and sent me the form. Easy as that. When I get the new drive, I'll post back.

I agree! My GCE-8320B recently stopped reading CD's, the drive doesn't spin up at all, so I Emailed LG Customer Service, they Emailed me back and gave me an 800 number to call in order to work out a drive swap. No hassles whatsoever! LG even pays all the shipping charges, for my old drive and the replacement! Grrrrrrrrreat!

So far, I've never had problems with my LG GCC-4320B watching DVD's.

It's good to know LG has great customer service.
