Yup just download and go straight to g. However, there have been a couple of initial reports that 1.0g makes the external burners burn just barely slower than 1.0f but its nothing significant so I wouldn't worry about it. Just download the 1.0g update and in the zip file will be the instructions. Basically you unzip, read the instructions, run the .exe then open up the folder it creates and run the .exe in there. Its nice and simple to do.
Also for future reference you can use the exact same method to backtrack your firmware if you run into problems so long as you have the firmware updater program for that version. Also, no 500 model thats been shipped yet seems to have a firmware higher than e so oyu need to update anyway since f and higher enable 4x burning.
