LG 8481b and EasyCD Creator

Installed 8481b cdwriter as slave to my LG dvd, installed the software that came with the cdwriter (EasyCDWriter 5) and now i get errors when i try to select create a cd from the main menu (says error returned 0x800 etc. Went back to using EasyCD 4 which came with my old 4xLG writer and this cannot recognise my new writer. Tried to update EasyCD 4 but this still does not work,

Any ideas most welcome

verify your jumper settings.

try switching drives around:
- burner as master, DVD as slave.
- moving the DVD to the primary slave.

update the BIOS of the motherboard.
