my friend told me these's this 9 gig dvdr he saw online and i wanted to know if my sony can burn this kind of media.
and i want to know if there's any dvdr that is over 4.7 gigs

Now, if you mean dual-sided discs, that is another story. Yes, it can burn those (assuming they are of good quality to begin with), but you have to manually flip them over to burn and play them.
