Empty Box For $50

Postby BuddhaTB on Thu Jan 01, 1970 6:35 am

There are some really stupid people out there. Here's an EBay auction in which an empty box was sold for $51.01. Always read the description carefully before bidding.

If people are stupid enough to buy an empty box, kudos to the seller. :)

If you don't even bother to read the entire description for something you are bidding on you deserve to get screwed.

I still have my Ti 500 box, and it's in damn good shape!

I wonder if it's worth $75!? :o

Ya know, some how for some reason that box was worth $51.01 to that bidder, as the auction made it nothing but absolutely clear it was just the box they were bidding on...

Though, with the world today, it would not surprise me to find out the bidder hadn't bothered to read the text in the auction listing...

And really thought they were bidding on the video card itself...

In weirder news, I remember my brother mentioning someone sold a photograph of a television... Something like they took a polaroid of a 52" television or something, and scanned the polaroid, and said "what you see is what you get."

I don't know the final outcome, but yes, the bid amount far, far exceeded the value of that polaroid...

But, I admit, for some reason (unknown to me), someone felt that BOX was worth $51.01...

Looking at that guys bid history, he's retracted 3 bids in the past 6 months.

He's learning.

Not quickly, but he's learning.

But yeah, Derek...could you imagine the feedback and the explanation that the "buyer" would have to give? I mean, what the hell can you say to that? "...I biffed..."

Did somebody say Biff?

"So why don't you make like a tree and get outta here!"

"Hey you, get your damn hands off her! Oh, Biff, I didn't know it was you."
