You get the OEM CD version of PowerDVD XP 4.0 that comes in a paper CD sleeve. Works just like the full version with all the features.

I don't know what are the differences ( and if there are any differences )between the Power DVD XP 4 OEM and Power DVD XP 4 Deluxe ( or full version or retail version .. call it as you want ) but i enjoy playing DVD with the OEM version which is not limited in time and looks similar . There is a serial number on the paper cd sleeve and you need it to install the software ( it's not a demo version ) .
Like me you ll not see any difference . In some cases there is small differences between OEM and retail version


In all cases remember manufacturers obtain great rebates from software editors when they buy one license for each drive they are manufacturing . And JLMS ( JVC and Lite-On subsidiary ) manufactures a lot of drives .

Usually the differences are in the audio formats supported,ie. DTS, DPL II etc.
