Pioneer A05 and Pioneer DV-354 standalone

Postby F1Pilot on Tue Jan 07, 2003 8:49 pm

Alright. My apologies for cluttering the forum with my new postings. I just got my new DV-354 standalone via FedEx. As stated in my previous postings, I've used 2 blanks...one Verbatim and one Khypermedia...to backup a DVD of mine. Both were burned with Nero 5.5.10.0. Verbatim played with no probs...Khypermedia was a no go.

Does anyone know if the blank needs to be a certain speed, or do I just write it off as crap media? The Verbatim is 2x and If I remember correctly, Khypermedia was 1x. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Your Pioneer may just not like that brand of media. Some of Pioneer's new models are quite picky as oppsed to some of their older models that'll play anything. For example my DV-440 plays KHypermedia without a problem. Before you try any more expensive brands like Verbatim try some 1x Ritek they play in the Toshiba SD-2800, Panasonic RV-32, Pioneer DV-440 & Pioneer DV-656A so they should play in your 354. I also always make an image file of my movie and burn it rather than dragging & dropping the Audio_Ts & Video_Ts files & then burning it may just be my imagination but it seems to be less problematic and more successful.
