New 4x DVD Writers From HP

Anyone have any more info on these drives?

DVDplusRW.org doesn't have much either:

What info do you want? I can find out anything ya wish. For example, NEC makes both the DVD300i and DVD300e. This can be found out just by looking up the FCC ID.

That's great as HP certainly believed the NEC ND-1100A was good enough since I also have one!

The earlier models 100/200 use the Ricoh design, I can't understand why HP should use now another design, but in this difficult time with a lot of new chipset manufacturers wich has a lot of new and good innovations like Mediatek, Oak and Nec it's still a guess what design HP uses now...
I have a doubt it uses a NEC design, and go for the OAK chipset then!

It really does use an NEC mechanism. If you look at the FCC ID on the unit then look it up at the FCC website you will see that the ID is granted to NEC. It even shows pictures.
