Concerning my problem with LiteON DVD 166S on reading data on DVD+RW media, I think I found a clue why I can't read some files on the disk. Hopefully you gurus can shed some light on this issue, because here it stops for me about the in and outs from DVD reading/writing.
I let CDR Diagnostic have a look at a DVD containing unreadable files when I try to read it with my 2 166S readers, while all my other DVD readers/writers can read the whole disk without any problems.
DVD+RW inserted in 166S gives following analysis :

Data track 1 recorded as part of session 1.
Volume size appears suspicious, header says 2261552 while track is 1513680 blocks.
Both the publisher and data preparer fields are blank. This should have somebody's name in it.
This track has an application identifier of "NERO___BURNING_ROM".
There are 721 accessible files and 7 directories contained in this track.
There are 333 files in the directory which are not recorded in this track.
The post-gap for this disc is either missing or invalid.

As you van read, when the DVD+RW is read by the 166s, 333 files are not in the first and only track what explains why I can't access them.
Anyone any idea what's going on here ???
