Best +/- R media for Sony DRU500A

So I have this Sony DRU500a and I used up a Memorex 5 pack of +Rs ...and now I'm thinking of getting a spindle of something...only problem is everywhere I look it's either too expensive or I'm not sure of the speed of the media or what. So can someone PLEASE break it down on what media is the best for this drive (+ or - R, im not interested in RW's). If one is better for DVD Video (in standalones) and one better for just data, fine, but please clue in a newb.

It hasn't been updated lately, and a lot of changes have happened (e.g. the DRU-500A firmware update), but it still has some use.

Veff, is there a newer thread that includes post firmware update data?

Not yet cfitz.
I have been busy lately (in a good way though) and had actually also simply forgotten about this post, or updating it at least.
1.0f has made the drive perform very well with almost every medium, not that I personally had many problems before...
I haven't tested much new media, but I can check vcdhelp.com and
get some updates from there, which I will incorporate into this post.
