Regardless of brands, makers, speeds, etc. (But better count 9.4GB Double-Sided DVD-R as two disks.)

Just a handful here. I'm kinda iffy and testing the waters with assorted brands. Since I'm new to the dvd game (A05), I pretty much look for deals and refer back to the forum for other peoples experiences with the particular brands.

So far:

Khypermedia (I know...I know...)
Verbatim 2x

I haven't made any coasters yet, but after I get my Pioneer DV-354 from FedEx, I might be recategorizing them...especially since I've been using the latest Nero...dammit. :-? Either that, or I'll just get an APEX from a friend over at CC.

I found quite a few seemingly good deals...not quite sure if I'll take just yet.

Hey seaegg, which brands are you buying?
I'm having no problems with the $2 Princos from MLH with my Toshiba.
I've purchased 10 DVD-R discs and 2 DVD-RW.

I buy anthing because I have a Pioneer DV-440 and a Pioneer DV-656A that play anything you put in 'em. You're lucky, I know my buddy's Toshiba SD-2800 doesn't like Princos whether they're 1x or 2x. Verbatim, Ritek, Optodisc and Fujis work fine in his Toshiba. I know the Panasonics can be pretty finicky about media as well because another buddy of mine has one. However, if you ever get your hands on either of the Pioneer models I mentioned above you can pretty much buy whatever you want, they'll work. I bought a Pioneer DV-353 and took it back after 2 days because it was picky. Then I got a JVC 505 and took it back within an hour same problem bit the bullet and my wallet and bought a demo model DV-656A and I'm happy, no more DVD-R compatibility problems.

Well I haven't used these discs for DVD Video, just data.
My LG DVD-ROM reads them just fine from 2.7x to 6.?x CAV. It slows down a little at the end of the disc and never seems to go above ~6.0x. It's more like it fluctuates between 5.0x and 6.0x after it hits 6.0x for the first time. I can post a DVDSpeed99 image of that if you like.

I bought 520 DVD-R so far which was not reflected in the poll since I had already voted before I bought a large quantity of media.
