I wouldn't say they are falsely advertising, although the advertising is shoddy at best.
In the case of AEC Media, notice most of the burners tested don't even reach full capacity of the disc. Only a few of the burners write a full 99 minutes, most are in the 89 minute range. That being the case, why not save money and get 90 minute CD-R's? Also on the AEC Media site, how many of those burners support 32X writing? I can't find many, most of them are older drives (24X and below). In that case, I'd say the media will definitely burn at lower speeds on those particular drives.
Media International is the same way, most of the results show 89 minute capacity and not the full 99 minutes. Why waste the money buying 99 minute discs that won't write the full 99 minutes? Furthermore, in the disclaimer is states:
· Try writing at different speeds - some drives will only work on a particular speed. Slower is not necessarily better - some writers will write at 8x, but not at 4x, and not at 12x.
You aren't guaranteed anything, and I think if you are trying to record a full 99 minute disc at 32X then you are getting your hopes up.
