Need your Recommendations ASAP regarding my 48X CD burner?

Postby gomcse on Fri Dec 27, 2002 3:54 am

Hi guys,

I have a day off tomorrow & I am planning to pick up a 48X Cd burner from one of the local computers shop tomorrow.

I have finally ruled down the following 4 choices:

(1) LG 48X
(2) Lite On 48X
(3) Aopen 48X
(4) BENQ 48X

If I don't plan to burn games, just want to burn data (maintly software appz or ISO) and burn music / audio Cd, may I know which one of the out of those four I should get.

Please kindly advise ASAP.

Hi dhc014

Thanks for your suggestion and I think I probably will go for Lite On 48X.

I would go for the Lite-On 48x drive too. Lite-On drives are the best bang for the buck.

My first choice: LG. My second choice: Lite-On.

Do NOT get the BenQ 48X, you'll be sorry. I can't comment on the Aopen 48X, so just stick with LG or Lite-On and you'll be fine. :)

I picked up the LG 48x24x48 (GCE-8481B) on Boxing Day. Had a great deal, $50 USD. The thing is very speedy, my previous burner was a 4X LG. It's weird the N. America drive doesn't support Mt. Rainier due to roxio issues, where as other countries gets Nero and have that support. I'm using latest Nero and everything runs great.
