Turn on AWS in Clone CD... under USA.

Postby irikumi on Thu Jan 01, 1970 3:00 am

I was wondering how to turn on AWS in Clone CD in version 4.x. I am in the USA so its not an option avaliable in the software, unless I set my machine up for Canadian English or something goofy like that. In the 3.x version of Clone CD, all you had to do was look for the AWS key in the registry and set it to "1" for on. Do I need to add a new key or value in the registry under 4.x version to turn on the AWS option. Anyone got the registry value they can e-mail me, so that I can merge it into the registry to enable it, or know where I can download a crack to enable this feature.

Thanks

I have no problems turning on AWS by doing what you describe.
I am a big regedit FAN!!!!!!!!

"look for the AWS key in the registry and set it to "1" for on"
This is what I allways do.
Never fails.
I have CloneCD 4

I think I read about how Ian sets his to Canada instead of USA.

Of course, I don't have that problem

I thought the whole Canada thing was to enable the "Hide CDR Media" option.

It could be both.

AWS is disabled for the USA, something about possibly breaking American laws.

I'm not sure if Hide CD-R is disabled in the USA or not.
I've had to disable Hide CD-R as Smart Burn can't see a disc in the drive with it active. Yes, it works that well !

It's never been a problem for me

This does not work. It resets each time the PC reboots or CloneCD starts.

you can download this patch to unlock AWS and Hide CDR Media under USA:

Never fails : just patch it, then done. :) :)
