new Samsumg sw 224b firmware

Postby cocoloco700 on Mon Dec 23, 2002 10:02 am

hey everyone how's it going? have fun on xmas eve tonight :-)

i just got a new computer with a 24x10x40x samsumg sw 224b with firmware version R201... i looked up the firmware for this drive and it's currently at R05, but i do not get any documents as to what changes are made, so i'm not sure if i should upgrade or not.. by any chance, does anyone happen to know what changes are included in this new version of the firmware? i'd really appreciate the help, because i tried looking it up but got nothing.. one more thing, do you guys know if this drive is overclockable, because i saw the firmware for 240b with the similar firmware numbering (R---) so i thought maybe it would be like the lite-ons. thanks guys and sorry for the long message :P

No, its not overclockable. It uses a different chipset than Samsung's other drives.
