converting .Mpg to DivX

You might also want to try Vidomi, though it only converts MPEG2 to DivX.

Ooohhh!! A program I haven't used yet...cool! Xvid, though...hmm...time to download...

I must note that MpegMediator seems to be faster at encoding DivX movies than the DVD2AVI/VirtualDub combo...On my P4 1.7GHz, a 2HR movie takes about 1 HR 58Min, and that's with me running a bunch of other stuff too...
