The LTC-48161H/K sounds like a 48/24/48/16 CD-RW/DVD combo. The LSC is a slim line combo. Let's hope the'll be here soon (like yesterday). I'm still looking for a combo drive that features full fledged DVD speeds and Mt.Rainier (then, who isn't).

The LTC-48161H is indeed a 48/24/48/16. According to Lite-On's product roadmap, they should be available the first quarter of next year.

Lite-On has two slim combo drives on the way. The LSC 24081M is probably the 24/12/24/8 model. According to their roadmap, it should be out before the desktop version.

Does that mean Buslink may do a 48/24/48 CD-RW and 16X DVD-ROM combo since their drives are Lite-On's? How would Lite-On's compare to Samsung's new combo drive?

Let me check my crystal ball...

We won't know until Buslink announces or ships a combo drive. Same goes for your second question. We won't know until someone actually tests one.
