Any reason why not to go to VS08?

Postby rclayton17 on Sat Dec 07, 2002 12:27 pm

Hey all, i have a buslink 48x12x48, i guess i should say lite on 48x12x48 (the 48125W). I want to flash it from VS04 (thats what it was when i bought it) to VS08.

1. Any reasons why i shouldn't? I guess there wouldn't be many, if any at all.

2. Can i go back to VS04 if i don't like VS08? Seems like you'd be able to, just wanna make sure tho.

Edit: Oh, and is it better to flash in windows or dos, im on win98se

Edit: Or maybe i should go to vs06? i saw in a post that someone said vs08 doesn't give correct overburn testing results. and someone, plz say something, im getting antsy :P

i would upgrade to vs08, i have a true lite-on LTR-48125W, and there is not a single problem with it, i love the lite-on, i might upgrade to the 52x

can anyone tell me if going to the 52x lite-on has disadvantages over the ltr-48125w

The main advantage would be the faster RW speed...
