DVDSplit v0.5 works great!

Postby mike_s104 on Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:01 pm

I saw over at vcdhelp that the same author for IFOEdit released DVDSplit v0.5. After seeing how easy it was to use and after the frustration I have been going though, I thought I would try it out. it's only $25. that's a lot less then DVDClone and DVDXCopy which aren't even out yet. anyone wanting to be able to back up their DVDs that are dual layered, this is the way to go. you will still need a DVD ripper, I used SmartRipper.

check it out at http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/dvdsplit.html

it's worth the $25.

you pay him $25 via paypal and he emails it to you. I am not sure if he's still selling it or not.

Please do not post links to or ask for pirated software. Support the authors of programs like DVDSplit so they continue to develope them and make them better.

I knew when I bought DVD Split, there were others in the making but I wanted to play with something now.

the good thing about getting DVD Split when I did is seeing the maker is now working on DVD X Copy, I get it for free. so paying $25 for a really good piece of software and getting a more feature packed app that runs $100 for free is a great deal.

What's the difference between DVDSplit and IFOEdit? Is it just an easier to use interface?

I tried IFOEdit but just could not get it to work right for me. I am very sure the program works, it's just me that could not grasp the whole thing.

with DVDSplit, you first need to rip the DVD to the HDD using DVD Decryper, Smart Ripper or something else that does the same thing. after that fire up DVDSplit and tell it where you ripped it to. click next a few times and answer a few questions and let it work.

when it is finished, use DVDBurn (which comes with DVDSplit) or Nero to burn the DVDs and you're done.

NOTE: DVDBurn does not like DVD+RWs. I have not tried it with DVD+Rs or DVD-Rs but it works fine with DVD-RWs.

no, there is not a demo plus the guy who makes it now works for 321 Studios who makes DVDXCopy. he is not working on DVDSplit any more.

he was very nice and talked to the CEOs of 321 Studios and anyone that bought his software for $25 got DVDXcopy for free which runs about $99. not a bad deal at all.

www.dvdxcopy.com has always worked for me when I have used it in the past. the few things I don't like about it is it puts a warning on the start of the DVD. but the text is in a text file in the install directory. I am sure you can change it to whatever you woeld like.
