Need "good" 700mb RW's.

Can anyone recommend a good quality 700 mb RW?

I know of the Memorex 700mb RW's [they're very common here in Canada] but their quality seems a little "suspect".

I need it primarily to make and test audio quality before I use a CDR.

If it can overburn a bit that would be great too.

Secondary use is for data.

Burner is a Litey 52/24/52 but I don't need Ultraspeed media. Preferably High Speed but lower speed would be okay too.

Avoid the Memorex CD-RW discs. I had a hell of a time with a 10 pack I bought last summer. 9 out of 10 failed outright.

I'm going to get a package of these @ Circuit City here in Florida, only because I'm 10 minutes away from a store. Best Buy is across the road from Circuit City.

I am also looking for some good High-Speed CD-RW's.

I know PNY makes HS 700MB CD-RW's according to their website, but none of the web retailers seem to carry them.

Verbatim ones are supposedly good quality, but can't find any place that has them in stock.

I've always liked and had good luck with either Imation 10x or TDK 10x discs.

The Memorex 10x RW's *SHOULD* be ok at 8x. A friend got a pack of them and they worked fine in his 16x10x40 CD-RW (A Pacific Digital, which is a Lite-On I think). On my room-mates 16x TDK they bombed unless burn speed was dropped to 8x. Then they were ok. They do seem to work OK on my 48x Lite-On and the same friends new 40x Lite-On. Still wouldn't buy 'em, though.

Some are still valid. If you need this media in bulk they have 25 and 50 disc spindles at great prices (perhaps split a spindle with a buddy?) with free shipping at the AllMediaOutlet link. Unfortunately, I can't vouch for the quality of this media. I ended up picking some store branded media from CompUSA that has been pretty good to me though, burns at 12x without a hitch (rated @ 10x), and I haven't experienced any quality issues as far as burning and reading are concerned.

All is well in Florida. The drive 1300 mile (2200km) drive was fine. We did it in 2 days. When I arrived, my digital camera, 10 pack of Verbatim 24x RW's & 99 minute discs were already here. So were the Jimmy Buffett cd's. I'll post more in the Beer Garden later about it.

I just got back from Circuit City this morning and got a 5 pack of Jensen 80 minute RW (10x) discs for $7 USD. I don't have access to a burner, so I have no idea what the ATIP is. The box says "Jensen" on it, but it also says made in Taiwan & STI Certified (www.sticertified.com) on it. I gather they're really made by STI. I've never heard of them.

I was looking at Best Buy for CD-R's, but there were very few deals there.
(fuct: I just got your PM after I returned, if I go there again, I'll see what I can do, but I'm short on $ and using visa already, not to mention my wife's facial expressions ).

I'm just waiting for the Thanksgiving ads to come out on Wednesday & Thursday. If there's any great deals, then I'll stand in line, otherwise I'm off to Key West on Friday for the weekend! Actually, I'm going to KW for the weekend anyway.

Being Canadian, I can't really get the mail in rebates on the discs, so the deal has to be a good one.

Like on the 60oz bottle of Rum for $13.99 USD I bought yesterday...

Does Amazon carry any Verbatim HS CD-RW 700MB? When I checked the HS CD-RW's were 650MB and the 700MB ones were 4x only.
