Sony DRU500A and DAE

(Firsttime poster, so be gentle!)
I love my new Sony, except for one thing..DAE sucks bigtime! I'm using 1.0d FW, and EAC/LAME, but EAC starts every rip with read and sync errors, making for a needlessly long session, often incomplete(My Lite-On never had any probs.) I've done all the usual tweaks, Autodetect, adjusted read offset several times with at least 4 different CD's from EAC offset database, all to no avail. Has anyone else ran into this problem, or do I have a faulty drive? Have burned cdr's with success with Nero, so drive seems to work perfectly otherwise. TIA.

Stop using EAC cause it sucks :p I used EAC and had no issues with the drive. However, I don't like EAC, so I have stopped using it.
