Sony DRU500 & Media that does not work !

I got this drive today and so far I am pleased with it, works a treat, but.....

Media

This media fails in my drive at about 20% - 45% of the burn.
The media is rated as 1x - 2x.
There is no part number on the disc or the case.

The drive came with 1.0c firmware, I up-dated it with 1.0d before I did a burn to any media, so this was the 1st real test with the drive.

I have also tested the drive with Mirror DVD+R media, here the drive worked without any problems.

Now, does anyone have a list of media that DOES NOT WORK with the Sony DRU500a, as this would be good for those that are looking at buying media, could even make this a dual (no pun intended) list of yes it works, no it don't (DVD-R / +R).

I have seen the list of media thats been reported to work here in this forum, but it does not help those that can not get this media (I live in the UK).

Any help here would be good.

I did a second test in the Sony DRU500a using Nero this time with the VivaStar DVD-R media.... it failed again, snips from the log enclosed (oi Sony, this needs to be fixed ASAP in the new firmware thats due in December !!).

Stay away from this media from VivaStar (www.vivastar.com / www.vivastar.ch) as it fails to work in the Sony DRU500a.

Sounds like my experience with Khypermedia 1x discs. They will even fail with a media error during a simulation.
