Anyone know what causes these errors in Nero and CDSpeed

Postby cosmichippo on Tue Nov 19, 2002 12:42 pm

I was testing and twaeking my drives this weekend with CDSpeed and on my DVDR drive (Pioneer DVR-103) got the following errors:

When trying to write a data test disc in Nero CD speed I get (Error! INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST (052600)).

When trying to write a DAE test disc in CDSpeed I get (Error Setting Write Mode (code 051A00)).

It won't burn under nero either. It does play DVDs, CDs and CDRs fine though so it is some sort of burning interface error.

I haven't used it since I added a Lite-On CDRW drive a couple of weeks ago.

The Pioneer is the Master and the Lite-On is the slave and both are on the 2nd IDE ch. The Lite-On works fine.

If anyone is familiar with these errors, what causes them or where I can find info on the web that might explain. I have searched Google for these specific error codes and come up empty.

Thanks for any help,
Mike

What version of Nero are you using? When you installed the new LiteOn drive, did you install a new version of Nero? Have you performed any firmware upgrades lately?

This may be unrelated, but a couple of days ago I was getting strange errors from CD Speed while trying Scan Disc. Next day I haunted the Web for a previous version of CD Speed to check whether it behaved in the same way. But after rebooting my XP Pro box, I found that the latest CD Speed worked correctly. Thank you MS/Ahead again!

Hello again,

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I did install the version that came with the Lite-On but then completely uninstalled it and installed the demo version from the Ahead site. So I don't think that it's the OEM version haunting me.

Yes, as a matter fact, I did do a firmware update to the Pioneer and unfortunately It is a version that you can't reverse from. Like I said though, it will still PLAY all discs fine.

It is the newest version of Nero and CDSpeed and both work fine with the Lite-On.

Any idea what the errors are refering to? I can't find a mention on Google and the CDSpeed site just says what the error is not the cause or solution.

Please help, any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks again,
Mike

That is a pretty big piece of information to leave out. :( And you were thinking the problem might have been caused by installing the LiteOn drive? :o

I asked because I have seen such issues reported after firmware updates. What exactly did you upgrade from and to?

Maybe dhc014 can help you. In any event, try to see if you can find anything to help you on http://forum.firmware-flash.com/index.php .
