Burning CD image files onto DVD disks

Postby Kennyshin on Thu Jan 01, 1970 3:23 am

With Nero and Easy CD, is it possible to burn CD image files with extension names such as ISO and NRG onto DVD recordable disks?

Normal CD recordable disks have capacity of 650MB, 700MB, 800MB, and 870MB.

Also, what about copying CD to DVD+RW and DVD-RW with Nero like CD to CD? The contents recorded in 99min CD-R disks will easily fit into only one side of 8cm DVD recordable disks.

(I posted a similar question here.

Currently not; Easy CD and Nero only allow burning of ISO to CD-R.
Stomp RecordNow Max 4 does however allow ISO burning to DVD-R.
I think Vob Instant CD/DVD may work. Not sure though.
Burners only:
Pioneer DVR-115D
Pioneer DVR-111D
Plextor PX-716A TLA0304
Plextor PX-716A same TLA

For those folks who want to burn ISO images to DVD-R like Kennyshin, but don't have a program that will do so, rush over to OfficeMax and take advantage of the great offer for Stomp's Record Now MAX 4 (as mentioned by VEFF). OfficeMax is offering the software for $39.99 after mail-in rebate!

Sorry Kennyshin, I don't think OfficeMax exists in Korea, but I'm sure you won't have a problem finding the software at a local store for a low price.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's technically possible, I'm sure Nero will have it added in its future updates!

If I understand you correctly you want to burn .iso contents to different directories of a dvd recordable?

You could use winrar to extract the contents of the .iso to a temp directory then burn them that way to your liking...

What I haven't figured out yet is how to do that with .cue/.bin's to directories then burn those to a dvd... without using bin2iso which takes freaking forever.

I've been pondering buying a dvd+rw drive for that purpose, if I could get 7+ cd images on a dvd that would work off the dvd...

For backup purposes, of course.

BIN2ISO doesn't take THAT long. I use WINISO and the only reason why it takes a while to convert BIN's to ISO's is because I only have a PII-350 with 128MB of RAM. If I had a beefier machine I'm sure the process would be much quicker.

burticus,

No, I meant burning image files as such, not drag & drop to compilation.

Like copying VCD to DVD either directly or using CD image.

I read somewhere "cdimage.exe" program can now create ISO files for bootable DVD disks.

Doesn't the upgraded Recordnow DX that comes with the Sony DRU's also do this? I was told that it is the same as Recordnow MAX but labeled DX for eom distribution.
