>> Btw, WinDVD decodes DVD visually better than PowerDVD
Yes, they have a slight edge but I won't support those buggers due to a bad experimence with them. When I went to update my copy last year for Dolby Headphones support, I accidently bought another copy of WinDVD (their site was very confusing back then). I notified them about the error and they said they were going address it. They never did. I've sent countless emails, but they were all ignored.
No big loss for me except they lost a lifetime customer. Some companies just don't get it. They see no value in good customer support.
Anyways, I find PowerDVD much more stable.....at least on my system. WinDVD seemed to crash alot. PowerDVD hasn't crashed yet.
Incidently, the reason for my question is because occassionally movies will briefly hesitate. I think it is my DVD-ROM drive (Toshiba 1402) and I want to confirm this. I have a Matrox G400Max and AMD800 based motherboard. I was thinking of get a faster graphics card which supports hardware acceleration like (ie. iDCT in Ti4200) but I want to isolate the problem first.
Thanks for your reply.
